What do the following people have in common?

The Color of Beauty: The Life and Work of New York Fashion Icon Ophelia DeVore

DeVore’s extraordinary story is relevant because she changed the world’s definition of beauty. Tens of thousands of her protégés followed her formula for success taught at her Charm School located at the Empire State Building in     New York, NY opened from 1948-2005. She is a living legend amongst generations.

My book, The Color of Beauty: The Life and Work of New York Fashion Icon Ophelia DeVore, cleverly recounts how this powerhouse business woman revolutionized the fashion industry internationally with models of color. This will be the first book of its kind to reveal how Black models entered and graced the world of high fashion. Ms. DeVore has been acknowledged recently in the Washington Post Newspaper, New York Times Newspaper, Columbus Times Newspaper and Emory University Archives, where her documents are currently housed, upon her passing in 2014.
